The Waynesboro Farmers Agency has been a pillar of insurance expertise and community service for many decades. In 2021, Michael Bailey assumed ownership, continuing the agency’s long-standing tradition of customer-focused service while bringing fresh perspectives and innovative solutions to meet the growing needs of clients. Prior to Michael’s ownership, the agency was under the stewardship of Mike Towe from 2009 to 2014. During this time, the agency operated in downtown Waynesboro, where Mike helped build its reputation for personalized service, trust, and strong client relationships.

From 2014 to 2021, Nate Wilson owned the agency. During his ownership, Nate relocated the office to its current Waynesboro location and helped broaden the agency’s reach within the community. His leadership strengthened the agency’s reputation for delivering quality service and tailored insurance solutions.

Under Michael’s direction, the agency expanded its insurance options in 2023 to include Health Insurance and Medicare solutions, responding to the growing need for more comprehensive coverage options. This expansion reflected the agency’s dedication to evolving with the times and providing a full range of insurance services, from auto and homeowners insurance to life, health, Medicare, and business insurance solutions.

As part of the agency’s continued growth, Michael Bailey Agency purchased the Cary Cofer Agency in Lynchburg, Virginia, in July 2026. This acquisition allowed the agency to expand its footprint beyond Waynesboro while continuing the same commitment to local service, trusted advice, and strong client relationships. By bringing the Lynchburg agency into the Michael Bailey Agency family, the business strengthened its ability to serve more individuals, families, and businesses throughout Central Virginia.
